Johannesburg, South Africa – The Energy Council of South Africa welcomes the appointment of the new Eskom Board.
The Energy Council recognises the critical long-term role of Eskom in a sustainable and just energy transition for South Africa. Eskom also face significant challenges in stabilising and improving on the short-term availability of our aging national power generation fleet. Load shedding is arguably the most critical economic challenge we are facing as a country and Eskom should be given full support from all stakeholders to take well considered actions with urgency and accountability.
Eskom, as an Energy Council member, and the Eskom leadership have the full support of the Energy Council of South Africa.
